Revolution Bars Group are looking for a really outstanding Sales Manager to join the business. We are looking for a Sales Manager that is really proactive in attracting new business and is able to sell the fantastic space and facilities we have on offer.

Revolution Ipswich is an exciting 1000 capacity venue located in the heart of Ipswich with three rooms spread across two floors and a large outside area.  With a vibrant late night trade over the weekends and great spaces across the venue for any occasion, this is a great venue for a driven Sales Manager to maximise on the pre booked potential building relationships in the local community and businesses.

As a superstar Sales Manager, you’ll be an avid networker and the ultimate sales driver, passionate about creating exceptional experiences for all types of Revolution customer – be that consumer, corporate or student.

Your key responsibilities will be to build and manage a champion Sales Team for your own venue, together with whom you will ensure that you are:

  • Always working toward reaching your venue’s monthly pre-booked revenue targets and are planning the sales driving activity 6 months ahead
  • Maintaining the highest conversion of all incoming booking and event enquiries while treating and valuing every Revolution customer with the same level of incredible customer service 
  • Proactively building a vast database of key clients and corporate businesses who will become the core of your pre-booked revenue strea
  • Keeping all of your venue’s digital and social media channels up to date, with strategised and fun content
  • At the top of Revolution Bars Group’s key sales initiatives or projects, relevant and specific to your venue (brunch, late night bottle packages, Friday club etc)
  • Consistently using own initiative to come up with creative sales generating ideas that fit within the Revolution brand

As a Sales Manager it will also be your responsibility to maintain integrity within everything your Sales Team does and that you are living and breathing Revolution Bars Group values.

You will conduct regular performance and development reviews with every member of your Sales Team to prepare them for their next career steps and will lead as an example of what a Revolution Sales Manager should be.

Responsibilities in detail:

  • Understanding and adhering to the Revolution sales brand standards*
  • Handling all incoming event and booking enquiries in person and via telephone, website, social media and email systems and ensuring every enquiry is correctly documented on the Revolution booking system
  • Planning the Sales Team’s and own sales driving activity 6 months ahead, in line with the venue’s General Manager’s key business objectives, and sharing these strategy plans with the General Manager, Area Manager and National Sales Manager
  • Ensuring revenue and outside-the-box pre-booked revenue driving projects are in place, in line with the national Project Event Space plans

Corporate and Proactive

  • Ensuring all key (£1K+) past bookers are re-contacted 6 months in advance of their past booking/event date and that a “repeat or replace” plan is in place for these bookings/events
  • Ensuring all proactively generated corporate contacts are stored on the Revolution booking system and that a system is in place to maintain regular communication with these contacts
  • Regularly attending networking events and local and national business expos and shows and through this expanding venue’s database of corporate and consumer contacts, generating sales leads and booking/event enquiries and collaborating with other businesses on referral or discount schemes and Project Event Space
  • Conducting appropriate outbound and cold calling sessions to generate new corporate contacts or to drive sales of a specific initiative
  • Conducting appropriate outbound business visits to generate new corporate contacts or to drive sales of a specific initiative
  • Arranging regular in-venue corporate client meetings and conducting venue show arounds to generate seasonal booking and event enquiries
  • Running seasonal venue showcases for corporate businesses to generate seasonal booking and event enquiries
  • Overseeing select bookings and events to ensure the customer is satisfied with the set-up and the running of the event
  • Planning the Christmas pre-booked sales strategy to go live in January


  • Taking part in all central marketing initiatives as instructed by the National Sales Manager or Area Manager
  • Ensuring all of your venue’s digital and social media channels are kept up to date by the Sales Team, with strategised and fun content
  • Ensuring that the social media channels are utilised by the Sales Team to drive pre-booked sales and generate enquiries by proactively engaging with online customers through comments, direct messages and other campaigns

Admin and Communication

  • Ensuring all booking and event run sheets, pre-orders and any specific requirements are communicated to all the appropriate members of the venue’s team as agreed with them (kitchen, ops team etc) and that a system is in place to communicate any changes
  • Putting together the Sales Team rota to reflect business needs
  • Attending management team meetings
  • Ensuring all holidays or days off are authorised with General Manager, Area Manager and National Sales Manager (via email calendar invite)
  • Attending all required conference calls or sales sessions as instructed by the National Sales Manager or Area Manager
  • Attending all required area or national sales days, conferences or training courses

Own Sales Team Management and Development

  • Conducting regular performance and development reviews with every member of your Sales Team and ensuring that clear and measurable KPIs are in place for each sales person in line with key sales initiatives for your venue (brunch, Friday Club etc) and are regularly reviewed (aim to rotate every 4-6 months if appropriate)
  • Setting Sales Team tasks (both reactive and proactive) to ensure the whole team is working toward achieving the venue’s pre-booked revenue targets and aiding the overall revenue
  • Ensuring the Sales Team attend all relevant training courses and sessions and providing in-house training where needed
  • Recruiting Sales Team members to ensure the team is fully resourced at all times
